This vintage-style Michelin plaque depicts the Michelin Man (Bibendum), holding two tyres, one in each hand. The Michelin Man has gone through many iterations since his introduction in the early 1900's. Reflective of the popular trends of the time, in this sign he is smoking a cigarette (he seemed to stop smoking around the 1930's). The sign features carefully handpainted details, with background finished in yellow, with a red banner and white raised lettering. A little different to the more common colour scheme of blue and white, this sign is an interesting piece of automobilia. Pre-drilled holes mean it is easy to hand on a wall of your choice.
